A POEM THAT WAS WRITTEN FOR ME BY MY FIRST GIRLFRIEND AFTER JOINING THE SPINELESS GENERATION. 1974 Though he could not hold her in his arms Or take her hand and hold it tight He'd always give out a warm smile That told her things were gonna be alright Even when he hurt deep inside He had a way of always being happy When she was down and depressed He'd explain it all and make her see The love they had for each other was very strange And hard to let out People, hate, and words tried to separate them But they just ignored, and dreamed on His smile was something very special to her And she'd do anything for him His blue eyes softly guided her on And they'd shine when he gently grin The songs, the ways, the music, the times Were all joined in their laughter And are something she'll remember From then on till here after They loved thru words, looks, and songs As they swiftly dreamed on And when his trip was really down, he'd never take her along But soon, slowly he went his way, and she went hers. And their story blew in the wind. But she knew her strange love was still there She learned a lot from him. By LC |
